Tamil Nadu fishermen have been fishing in the Palk Bay for centuries. After the 1974 Indo-Lanka Maritime Agreement, India surrendered Katchatheevu Island. Now Sri Lankan Navy arrests TN fishermen — 530 arrested in 2024 alone, 71 boats seized. Some sentenced to 6 months to 1 year jail. Families destroyed. Livelihoods gone. PM Modi promised a solution in 2014. 11 years passed.
India's farmers owe ₹18.4 lakh crore in debt — more than the entire defence budget times 10. Average farmer earns ₹27 per day. Over 4 lakh farmer suicides since 1995. Private moneylenders charge 30–60% interest. Crop fails → loan compounds → land seized → suicide. Seeman (NTK) has consistently demanded full debt waiver as a state right. The demand is morally correct.
India reported 29,536 rape cases in 2024 — 80+ per day. That's just reported cases. Experts say less than 10% of rapes are reported due to social stigma and police hostility. Conviction rate is under 30%. Cases drag 5–10 years. Nirbhaya happened in 2012 — India still doesn't have fast justice. RG Kar Medical College rape (2024) — doctor killed inside hospital. Women aren't safe anywhere.
India loses ₹8.5 lakh crore annually to corruption — enough to build 8 AIIMS hospitals every year. From ration card to passport, every service requires bribes. Government officers know there are no consequences. ED and CBI are used against political opponents, not actual corrupt officers. IAS officers transferred if they act against corruption. The honest officer is punished. The corrupt one is promoted.
Farmers buy seeds, fertilizer, and pesticides at market price — often fake (companies selling counterfeit inputs face minimal punishment). But they sell crops at prices set by middlemen. The government announces MSP but buying below MSP has no legal penalty. Input costs rose 200% in 10 years. Farmer income barely moved. The farm loan waiver is a band-aid; structural reform is what's needed.
Poor families pay ₹2 lakh/year to send children to private schools because government schools are broken. No functioning toilets. Teachers absent. No labs. No libraries. Government spends 3% of GDP on education — UNESCO recommendation is 6%. Finland's public schools are among the world's best — zero private school advantage there. India can do the same if the political will exists.
India spends 2.1% of GDP on healthcare — one of the lowest globally. WHO recommends 5%. Government hospitals lack X-ray machines, ventilators, ICU beds. Doctors concentrated in cities. Rural people travel 100km for a scan. The RG Kar Medical College rape showed women aren't even safe inside hospitals. Ayushman Bharat helps BPL families — but what about everyone else?
200 million Indians lack clean drinking water. Children die from waterborne diseases every day. Groundwater depleted by unregulated borewells. 60% of rivers carry raw sewage. Jal Jeevan Mission promised tap water to every home by 2024 — CAG found massive irregularities in implementation. ₹20,000 crore spent on Ganga cleaning since 1985 — river still carries raw sewage in 2025.
India has 5 crore+ pending court cases. A murder trial can take 15 years. Rape cases: 10 years. Property disputes: lifetime. The rich hire expensive lawyers and delay. The poor give up and accept injustice. India has only 20 judges per million people — USA has 107. This isn't a justice system. It's a waiting list for justice that never comes.
1 in 6 young Indians is unemployed. India adds 12 million youth to the workforce every year. Jobs created: less than half that. 30 lakh government vacancies exist right now — unfilled for years. NEET paper leaks. Engineering graduates driving autos. MBAs doing data entry. BJP promised 2 crore jobs per year in 2014 — 11 years later, youth unemployment is higher than when they started.
We didn't just look at national data. We went state by state — and found solutions from countries that already fixed these problems.
