1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Cockroach Janata Party website at cjpindia.xyz (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the complete agreement between you and CJP regarding your use of the Platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

2. What CJP Is

CJP is a civic engagement and public interest information platform that publishes governance accountability data, citizen ratings of Indian state governments and civic commentary in satirical format. CJP is not a registered political party, does not contest elections and has no formal political affiliation.

The Platform is provided for general informational, educational and civic engagement purposes. Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal, medical, financial or any other form of professional advice.

3. Permitted Uses

You may use the CJP Platform for the following purposes:

• Reading and sharing governance data, state rankings and civic commentary for personal, educational or journalistic purposes
• Submitting genuine citizen ratings of your state government through the Rate Your State feature
• Subscribing to CJP newsletters and updates
• Contacting CJP to submit data corrections, report governance issues or ask questions
• Sharing CJP content on social media and other platforms with attribution to CJP
• Referencing CJP data in journalism, research and civic education with clear attribution

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the CJP Platform for the following purposes:

• Rating manipulation: Submitting multiple ratings for the same state or category, coordinating with others to artificially inflate or deflate state ratings, or using automated tools to submit ratings
• False information: Submitting contact messages containing knowingly false information with the intent to cause CJP to publish inaccurate data
• Impersonation: Claiming to represent CJP, pretending to be a CJP official or creating confusion about your relationship to CJP
• Commercial exploitation: Using CJP content or data to create competing commercial products without permission
• Technical interference: Attempting to access, disrupt or damage CJP's technical infrastructure, including through denial of service attacks, SQL injection, scraping without permission, or any other technical means
• Illegal activities: Using the Platform in any manner that violates applicable Indian or international law
• Harassment: Using CJP contact channels to harass, threaten or abuse CJP team members or other citizens

5. Citizen Ratings

The Rate Your State feature allows citizens to submit anonymous ratings of their state governments. By submitting a rating, you represent that:

• Your rating reflects your genuine personal assessment of government service delivery in your state
• You are a resident of or have direct experience with the state you are rating
• You are not submitting the rating as part of a coordinated campaign to manipulate the leaderboard

CJP reserves the right to exclude or remove ratings that appear to be submitted in bad faith, as part of organised manipulation, or that otherwise do not reflect genuine citizen experience. CJP's determination of what constitutes a bad-faith rating is final.

6. Intellectual Property

All original content on the CJP Platform — including written articles, data analysis, graphic design, the cockroach mascot, the CJP name and logo, and all associated creative elements — is owned by CJP and protected by applicable intellectual property law.

What you may do with CJP content

• Share CJP content on social media with attribution to CJP and a link to the original page
• Quote limited excerpts of CJP analysis in journalism, academic research or civic education with attribution
• Reference CJP state rankings with attribution in non-commercial public interest contexts

What you may not do without permission

• Reproduce substantial portions of CJP content on other websites without attribution and a link to the original
• Use the CJP name, logo or cockroach mascot in ways that imply endorsement or affiliation without written permission
• Create derivative works based on CJP content for commercial purposes without a licence agreement

7. Data Sourced from Government and Third Parties

Much of the data CJP publishes is sourced from official Indian government reports and international research institutions. This data is owned by the respective original publishers and is referenced under fair use and public interest principles. CJP does not claim ownership of government data and encourages users to access primary sources directly.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CJP and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the Platform
• Any errors or inaccuracies in data published on the Platform
• Any action taken or not taken based on information published on the Platform
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
• Any other matter relating to the Platform

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
